Civil Procedure is an intellectual challenge probably regardless of the professor but I thought Subrin did a great job breaking complex issues down to simple concepts anyone could understand. There is a lot of reading (typical of any first year course) and he can be a bit of a dry orator at times but I always felt like I left class understanding what it was we were supposed to understand.


I agree completely with the above and add this advice to all future 1st years: don't worry about "getting it" until at least Thanksgiving. Its the kind of subject that only really makes sense when you have the complete picture.


I would like to counter the comment about him being a dry orator. I think it's great the way he gets so psyched up about some of the geeky distinctions in the doctrine. Makes the otherwise inherently dry material a little livelier and much more interesting.
