I kept adding new (old) magazine scans to the gallery, as well as captures from a promotional The Island interview from MSN. Thanks to Kathy for sending it in! I will upload it when I return from my short trip to Munich, which should be this Wednesday if everything goes well. If something special happens, the lovely Riikka will serve with news & pictures.
And last but not least - thanks so much to Amanda for creating a fanlisting dedicated to this site! Be sure to visit and join, it's quite exciting.
Scarlett Johansson's car boob - 29 Jul 2005 by Mel - Comments (6)
Scarlett Johansson nearly crashed her car after being distracted by the sight of her own boobs on a giant Hollywood billboard. The sexy star was forced to slam on the brakes when she saw how her breasts had ballooned massively in size on the promotional poster. The 20-year-old beauty claims she was shocked because the poster, which promotes her new film 'The Island', had been digitally enhanced. She said: "I was driving through Los Angeles and I look up and see the biggest photo of me I have ever seen in my life on a massive ad space. "I screamed and slammed on the brakes, I couldn't believe it It's very strange to see my cleavage the size of a brontosaurus. My breasts were huge. "I had long hair and my goodness, I couldn't get past the cleavage. "I was like, 'Look at me They wiped out my whole face Oh, that's not my face That's my cleavage' My cleavage was just huge". Although 'The Island', co-starring Ewan McGregor has flopped at the box-office the poster has been a big hit in Los Angeles with loads of cars slowing down so fans can get a better look at Scarlett. Acting is pointless says Scarlett - 28 Jul 2005 by Mel - Comments (12)
Scarlett Johansson says she is not proud of her films and thinks acting is a relatively pointless profession. In an interview with German daily Financial Times Deutschland, she said: "As actors, we make movies, we don't save lives. What I do, it's actually not that important." She added: "I'm also not proud of my films. That was never a criteria." She said she always just wanted to make movies that she herself would pay to see, adding: "I definitely want to be in a Tim Burton film. That's right at the top of my list." She also revealed she would like to direct she added: "I would even make an advert if I had to, if it meant I could direct at least once. As long as it wasn't for tampons or something embarrassing." Video archive & gallery updated - 28 Jul 2005 by Mel - Comments (0)
First of all, I installed a script that will now count the users that are browsing the site at the moment, so all the unnecessary pop-ups should be gone. Then I fixed some broken video files (including the video from The Early Show) and added a script that will count how many times a certain video has been downloaded already - this will probably help me to decide which ones to upload next. If you have a special request, feel free to leave it in the comments.
The official US poster for "A Good Woman" has been released - click here to see it. I don't really like it, but I have seen the movie and I have to say that it's awesome! Very funny, and the cast is great (especially Tom Wilkinson). Anyway, here's a list of updated or newly-added sections in our gallery:
Scarlett was at the Early Show yesterday to promote The Island - I have uploaded a video and 66 video captures for you. There are also 5 new photos from the press conference for The Island in our gallery. Be sure to check them out!
Bad news - The Island flops! - 24 Jul 2005 by Mel - Comments (10)
This is probably one of the biggest surprises of the summer for me, as THE ISLAND, a film that had been receiving some of the best pre-release buzz of any movie this summer, starring hottie Scarlett Johansson and directed by the man best known for generating hundreds of millions of dollars from his popcorn action flicks, Michael Bay, tanked with only $12M in its opening weekend, landing it in 4th place overall, just a tiny bit ahead of the BAD NEWS BEARS! Considering that the film cost about $120M, that is what they refer to in the biz as a "major bomb". That is, unless the film miraculously picks up audiences in the weeks to come, but somehow, that doesn't seem very plausible. It appears as though the old "people don't really care for science-fiction movies" adage has come true, once again. (Source) This is of course a huge surprise to me, let's hope the movie does better next week.
Like I had posted in my last update, Scarlett went to the Today Show to promote The Island yesterday - click here for captures, or watch her 5-min interview here. There are also new "on the set" photos from The Untitled Woody Allen Project, and The Movie Box has a new Japanese trailer for A Good Woman that features some new scenes. In other news, Last Days Movie, the official website for the upcoming movie Last Days with Michael Pitt, says in his biography that he will starr in "Delirious" with Scarlett and Steve Buscemi (who was both in Ghost World & The Island with her). At the moment I do not know more, so if you have any information on it please email me. Meanwhile, you can check IMBDs subsite out.
I have returned from my trip to London (which was great!) and am now ready to update - Scarlett was everywhere the week I was away! Thanks to the wonderful Riikka for posting news while I was away. She just re-opened her Charlize Theron fansite, so be sure to check it out here - it's fantastic!
Anyway, on to the updates! I have added captures and the video of Scarlett's appearance on the Late Night show with Conan O'Brien (thanks to Becky for capping it!), and we have also a new promotional video Scarlett gave to promote Eight Legged Freaks some years ago and captures from Access Hollywood - July 12, 2005. Both captures and the video from TRL will be uploaded soon, so stay tuned.
The August 2005 issue of Allure magazine features 3 great new shots of Scarlett - click here for them.
Golly Josh (which reports that Scarlett & Josh Hartnett are now officially an item - as far as I know, both have NOT confirmed it yet!)
Lastly, The Dreamworks Fansite has released 8 great new clips from The Island which are worth to check. Don't forget that the movie will be released on July 22! To promote the movie, Scarlett is scheduled to be on the Today Show on July 20th - be sure to tune in!
EWAN McGREGOR's heroic instincts kicked in when he saw SCARLETT JOHANSSON hanging from a height while filming THE ISLAND - even though she had a harness which kept her out of danger. The Scottish hunk couldn't bear to watch the actress dangling nine metres (30 feet) above the ground, and gripped onto her for dear life even though she was perfectly safe. She recalls, "He was like, 'I can't let go. It's my human instinct. You're going to fall.' "It was very sweet of him. " (Source: Contact Music)
