I thought this was a really helpful course – though I took it when it was only 2 credits and I definitely think it deserves the 3 it now gets. The work is not too much, but I had to adjust to jumping into writing without having done the research myself, which was weird. Some class sessions were very helpful, some not at all, but that is the nature of the class – not everyone needs help in every area of writing, so of course, some classes won’t be useful to you. The individual meetings with Joan (as well as her written comments on the assignments) were very helpful. If you want to work on your memo/brief writing, I recommend this class.
I agree. I also took this class when it was only 2 credits and agree it's deserves 3. I found the work to be a lot but worth it. Professor Neissler was always available outside of class. I found that meeting with her was very helpful. She was able to provide useful additional resources. This is the best class to help you improve your writing!
